Accelerating GI Research with Publications
Predictors of Patients Receiving No Medication for Treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in the United States: Data from the TARGET-EGIDs Cohort
Presented at ACG 2024, this analysis from Target RWE's EGIDs cohort revealed that nearly 10% of newly diagnosed eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) patients did not have any record of pharmacologic treatment following diagnosis. Findings show that older patients, especially those without EoE-specific symptoms or complications, were more likely to have no reported medication.

Factors Predicting Loss of Remission in Crohn’s Disease Patients in Endoscopic Remission in the Real World Results From TARGET-IBD
Published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, this study found that active histologic inflammation, despite endoscopic remission, was independently associated with risk of subsequent loss of remission (LOR), suggesting that histologic remission may improve outcomes in Crohn's disease (CD).

With the strategic partnership between Target RWE and the AGA, we have incorporated the AGA's eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) severity index tool, I-SEE, into our gastroenterological patient cohorts to assess EoE severity. This has enabled the collection of robust data on EoE patients, allowing researchers to track disease progression, compare treatment options, and ultimately improve the diagnosis and management of this chronic condition.
